Every year in November began the decoration of Batalha for Christmas. At all roundabouts are beautiful decorations made and if you come to Batalha from the IC2 you see the beautiful crib. On the square at the abbey is a tree of lights! In the evening after dark and the lights come on, it’s a fantastic sight.
In this period, all kinds of activities are organized for all ages. On Sunday, December 11th was in the Abbey a beautiful Christmas concert. For the children there was a Santa Claus or children could ride on a pony.
Have you already visited the Festas na Batalha? Yesterday was the concert of the famous Portuguese band GNR! You can enjoy Festas na Batalha until Monday evening!!
Last weekend was the center of Batalha occupied by soldiers and their camp. The life of the knights and soldiers from the Middle Ages was central. There were sword fights and fires. At the end of the day there was a huge firework spectacle for young and old. The event attracted much attention from locals and tourists.
Today one of our guests made the first dive in the swimming pool for this season! A little bit cold but after a few minutes it was delicious!
The coming week seems the weather to remain stable again! The pool is Monday, April 4 prepared for the summer. The cover is taken down, cleaned and stored for winter. So our guests can again enjoy a refreshing swim.
Who likes to go walking?! On Sunday 10th of April you can walk with a guide the Buraco Rota. The tour is about 7 kilometers with a medium level of difficulty. You will walk on rural roads and sidewalks. At 9.30 hour we come together at Largo da Praca da Fonta in Reguengo do Fetal. If you like after the walking tour you can enjoy the lunch with a starter, maincourse, dessert and a drink. The amount is only € 10,00 for the lunch!
On April 2th the president of Portugal visit our city Batalha because of the inauguration of the new Musea of Batalha, the MCCB. He arrived round 11.00 at the city hall and from there they walked to the Museum. The official opening was round 12.00 a clock!!
